1. (1) Fleming Island (10-0, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Middleburg, New Smyrna Beach, Ocala Forest, Paxon, Stanton.

Glance: The Golden Eagles have done nothing but cement their status as the area’s best program week after week. Since our last Super 6, Fleming has been busy. It edged Oakleaf (12-7), topped Bartram Trail (20-6), nipped No. 6 White (27-24) and blanked Baldwin. They’ve got Riverside on Friday and Clay on Monday to round out what should be a perfect regular season. London Jenkins (10 rushing TDs, 2 passing TDs, 5 receiving TDs, 9 interceptions) is in the conversation as the area’s best and most versatile player.

2. (3) Stanton (6-2, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Atlantic Coast, Fletcher, Yulee.

Glance: The Blue Devils routed Parker (36-0) in their lone game since our last Super 6. They’ve got Baldwin and White on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

3. (4) Paxon (8-2, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Raines, Stanton.

Glance: Paxon bounced back from a loss to Fletcher with a 19-13 win over Ridgeview since our last Super 6. Sandalwood is up next on Thursday. Outside of the loss to the Senators, Paxon has a loss to No. 1 Fleming Island.

4. (NR) Clay (5-0, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Middleburg, Orange Park, Sandalwood, Yulee.

Glance: I’d been hesitant to include teams in the rankings whose schedules haven’t included at least five games. The Blue Devils reached that threshold this week with an 18-0 rout of previous No. 2 Middleburg and a 21-0 romp over St. Augustine. They close out with four games over the next week, so this record could look quite a bit different next week.

5. (T6) Fletcher (6-2, Class 2A)

Notable win: Paxon.

Glance: The Senators walloped Englewood 66-0 in their lone outing since breaking in to the Super 6 last week. They’ve outscored teams 240-34 this season. They’ve got a tough Atlantic Coast up next Wednesday night.

6. (T6) White (8-3, Class 1A)

Notable wins: Fletcher, Raines, Sandalwood.

Glance: The Commanders went 1-1 since our last Super 6, beating Raines (13-6) and losing in a slugfest to No. 1 Fleming Island (27-24), a game it led 12-0 in and had a shot to tie in the fourth quarter.

Dropped out

Menendez (6-2, Class 1A); Middleburg (5-3, Class 1A)

Others

Atlantic Coast (6-3, Class 2A); Bradford (4-1, Class 1A); Crescent City (9-2, Class 1A); Flagler Palm Coast (4-4, Class 2A); Mandarin (5-3, Class 2A); Menendez (6-2, Class 1A); Oakleaf (6-2, Class 2A); Raines (3-2, Class 1A); Sandalwood (6-2, Class 2A); Suwannee (8-2, Class 1A).
